The surgical management of amoebiasis in children

Abstract
Five children with severe complications of acute amoebic dysentery are described. The results of a simple defunctioning proximal ileostomy are encouraging. Prior administration of anti-amoebic therapy and postoperative intensive medical care are mandatory for a successful outcome.Keywords
