Abstract
With the forged specimens of iron-aluminium alloys, the temperature change of magnetization at a constant external field of 12.5 Oe has been measured by a ballistic method and also the temperature change of electric resistance by a potentiometer method. It has been found that a new phase exists in the range of α solid solution containing aluminium more than about 8 percent ; the new phase being essentially different from the Fe3Al superstructure phase. In the range of Fe3Al superstructure containing aluminium less than 13.9 percent, the alloys consisted of a mixture of the new phase and the Fe3Al superstructure, and in the content of aluminium more then 13.9 percent, the alloys are of a single phase of Fe3Al superstructure. The phase in the higher temperature range than the transformation temperatures of the superstructure phase consisted of two phase which are separated at the concentration of 13.9 percent of aluminium. The magnetic transformation temperature of α phase descends slowly with an increase of aluminium content and vanishes at 13.15 percent of aluminium. And a short range ordered superstructure of Fe3Al exists in the higher temperature range than the superstructure ransformation temperature. Keywords
