Abstract
A very melanotic codfish is described which proved to be heavily infested with metacercariae of a heterophyid trematode. The number of parasites and the intensive reaction of the host in the development of melanophores and hypertrophy of the dermis are greater than any recorded for parasitized fish. The parasite may be a form related to Cryptocotyle. Keywords
