Abstract
We report new, more accurate ab initio values for the electronic transition moments of the B–X and C–X transitions of H2 in the internuclear distance range R=[1, 12 a.u.]. Most of the values published by Wolniewicz in 1969 are confirmed within 0.3% such that the resolution of a recently published discrepancy between experimental and theoretical B and C state lifetimes should be sought in the interpretation of the experimental measurements.
