Abstract
A long series of studies beginning with the pioneering experiments of Wiesel and Hubel [1] has shown that correct visual experience is crucial for the development of the visual system. Recent results suggest that neurotrophic factors of the nerve growth factor family might have a relevant role in mediating the effects of visual experience on the developing visual system. Keywords
