Abstract
The best variational energies epsilon obtained to date for the weakly-bound states of muonic molecules dd mu * (L=1) and dt mu * (L=1) are calculated. A value of epsilon (dd mu *, L=1) is obtained with an accuracy that meets the requirements of muon-catalysed fusion investigations: epsilon (dd mu *, L=1)=1.972+or-0.001 eV. The energies of the 11S, 23S, P, 21 23P states of the infinity He atom and of the 21P state of 3He and 4He atoms are calculated by the same method. Keywords
