Abstract
A case is described of an acute, superficial hemispherical disturbance due to cortical thrombophlebitis secondary to streptococcal pansinusitis. A subdural abscess was located adjacent to the falx and following drainage there developed cavernous sinus thrombosis and segmental occlusions of retinal veins. It is indicated that the symptomatology of subdural abscess is not due to a thin film of pus in the subdural space but to an associated thrombophlebitis of cortical veins, in this case accompanied by spread to the retinal vessels. Keywords
