Abstract
Knowledge of the differences in composition of mammalian milks, the gastrointestinal reactions of the young of various species fed lactose-containing diets, and the response of the gastrointestinal mucosa to injury is essential for the design of feeding programs in developing countries as well as the nutritional management of species other than humans.Keywords
