Abstract
The maximum safe single dose for sheep appeared to be less than 0.5 g./kg. of DDT and of Chlordan, and less than 0.75 g/kg. of benzene hexachloride. Methoxy analog of DDT produced no toxic effects. A sheep give 1 g. of Chlordan/kg. and another given 2g./kg. were dead after 48 hrs, A single dose of Chlordan at 0.05 and benzene hexachloride at 0.125 g./kg. caused no toxic effects to cattle. Sheep grazed for 21 days on pastures sprayed with Chlordan at the rates of 1 lb. and 4 lb. per acre and showed no indication of toxic effect. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
