Abstract
The rotation of the methyl group in the free radical ClCH2–CONH–C(CH3) COOH was studied by ESR and ENDOR spectroscopy. The results are analyzed using a quantum-mechanical hindered rotor model with Mathieu functions as basis functions. The experimental results indicate a barrier height of less than 0.5 kcal/mole.Keywords
