Abstract
A hematologic and histologic study has been carried out on the histogenesis and development of virus-induced myeloid leukemia in the fowl. The first signs of neoplasia took the form of small tumor foci in the extra -sinusoidal tissue in the bone marrow 4 days after inoculation of the virus. On the fifth day peripheral infiltration of the organs was noted, while the marrow was still only slightly involved. In the final stage this infiltration was severe. The chief hematologic features of the disease were progressive anemia and granulocytopenia, associated with increasing leukemia. Keywords
