Allergic Contact Dermatitis in Hand Eczema

Abstract
Two hundred and twenty cases of hand eczema were evaluated for uncomplicated allergic contact dermatitis. In 12% of the 220 patients, the diagnosis was established with the aid of a standard screening tray. Another 5% of the cases were diagnosed as a result of testing with additional allergens. The hand eczema in these patients (17%) changed dramatically as a result of allergic contact investigation.
