Abstract
Ten tumors of the golden hamster (Mesocricetus auratus) were cultured in vitro. Five tumor-cell lines were grown in suspension cultures. A line of melanotic melanoma cells retained its pigment-producing ability for a prolonged period. The individuality of these cell lines was evident from their growth characteristics in vitro and in vivo and from analysis of their chromosome constitutions. Keywords
