DEMOCRATIC QUARK MASS MATRIX AS AN ORIGIN OF SYMMETRIC KM MATRIX

Abstract

The symmetric KM matrix is derived from the democratic quark mass matrix with the off-diagonal corrections. The obtained KM matrix is almost independent of the absolute value of the top-quark mass. The predicted CP violating phase ϕ is around 25º. Deviations from the symmetric limit are also studied quantitatively.
