A note on differential mortality rates in young rabbits of esterase phenotypes A, AB, and B

Abstract
Electrophoretic variants of certain red cell esterases of rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) have been shown to be under the control of two co-dominant autosomal alleles (Grunder, Sartore and Stormont, 1965). Each allele controls two zones of esterase; those controlled byEsAmigrated ahead of those controlled byEsB. The heterozygote manifests not only the zones of both homozygotes but also a ‘hybrid’ zone which appears between the A and B zones.
