Abstract
During a recent investigation of electrostriction in yttrium iron garnet it was observed that different experimental configurations and samples produced a variety of spurious effects, which are the subject of this paper. Although somewhat inconclusive the results indicate that measurements of electrostriction require great caution if genuine results are to be obtained. Keywords
