Abstract
A computer-adjustable laser diode temperature control system yielding +or-2 mK temperature stability is described. An integrated circuit temperature sensor and a Peltier heater/cooler are used as the basis of this arrangement. Rather than a conventional bridge, a 16-bit A/D converter is incorporated to determine the temperature to high accuracy. The system is designed primarily to generate rapid temperature scans but is also capable of maintaining a set point temperature for long periods. Keywords
