Abstract
An outbreak of mucosal disease that occurred among Friesian heifers aged 15 to 18 months is described as it occurred. Investigation suggested that many heifers were immunotolerant to bovine virus diarrhoea-mucosal disease virus. Serious losses were incurred. The present policy of surveillance is described.Keywords
