Abstract
During impulse propagation in non-homogeneous cell membranes certain areas are converted from the normal configuration to a trigger configuration. Phenomena which occur are considered. At certain lengths the heterogeneity is ignored by the propagating impulse. Above the critical value the trigger region starts to generate high frequency impulses. In pathological conditions, e.g., in the heart, such heterogeneity may induce fibrillation.This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
