Abstract
8 species of Pseudocyclopswere recorded from 14 samples taken at depths of 1 to 10 m in the north-eastern part of the Bahamas. The samples were obtained on sandy bottoms using an Ockel-mann detritus-sledge with a plankton net of mesh size 140μ. The following five new species are described: P. bahamensis ♀, ♂ P- mathewsoni ♀, ♂, P. lerneri ♀,♂, P. spinulosus ♀, and -P. oliven ♀. The three species, P. cokeri, P. rostratus, and P. rubrocinctusare recorded from the area for the first time. The composition and relative abundance of Pseudocyclopsat each station is given. The three most numerous species were P. rubrocinctus, P. bahamensis, and P. rostratus. At most stations several species were caught together and at one all 8 species were recorded. Males were scarcer than females. Keywords
