Mayer's Theory of Condensation and Homogeneous Nucleation

Abstract
Mayer's theory is re-examined and is shown to yield the proper onset of condensation. Evaluation of reducible integrals for large clusters leads to a formula analogous to Volmer's classical result in nucleation theory.Keywords
