Abstract
Suspensions of heart-body tissue and of coelomocytes in solutions of porphobilinogen produced uroporphyrin. This affords additional evidence for the haematopoietic function of the heart-body, and for the view that the free porphyrins found there and in the haemoglobin-containing coelomocytes are formed by these tissues' own activity in haem synthesis. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
