Limits on $K_{L}^{0} \to π^{0} e^{+} e^{-}$ and $K_{L}^{0} \to e^{+} e^{-}$

Abstract

We report on a search for the flavor-changing neutral-current decays

K_{L}^{0} \to π^{0} e^{+} e^{-}

and

K_{L}^{0} \to e^{+} e^{-}

. Limits obtained for these processes are

B (K_{L}^{0} \to π^{0} e^{+} e^{-}) < 3.2 \times 10^{- 7}

and

B (K_{L}^{0} \to e^{+} e^{-}) < 1.2 \times 10^{- 9}
