Abstract
A linear analog position transducer, based on a Texas Instruments TIL 138 phototransistor/photodiode is described. Using a 3 break-point diode function generator, a 1.2 mm displacement range with 1 µm resolution can be presented as a linear output voltage from 0.5 to 12 V. The system has a consistent 25 µs velocity lag. Keywords
