Abstract
Transition to turbulence in the Taylor vortex flow between two concentric cylinders is investigated by the use of the 56-mode model equations presented by the author in IV. With the increase of the Reynolds number just before the onset of turbulence, the motion changes as follows: Quasi-periodic motion with three fundamental frequencies → synchronized motion with two frequencies → non-periodic motion. Keywords
