Abstract
Studies of ascocarp morphology, fungus-host relationships, and asexual accessory structures are the basis for retaining several spp. of Ascomycetes in the family Dimeriaceae and assigning others to the families Venturiaceae or Perisporiopsidaceae. Additional information includes synonymy, typification, host, and distribution records, and references to pertinent literature and illustrations. Spp. discussed are Antennularia chusqueae (Asteridium chusqueae Rehm), known from Equador and Chile, A. dubiosa (Speg.) Theiss. from Paraguay and Brazil, Dimeriella pumila Petr. from Equador, Dimerina bambusicola Teng from China, Epipolaeum disseminatum (Dimeriella disseminata Syd.) from Venezuela, E. erysipheoides (Dimerosporium erysipheoides Ell. et Ev.) from Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Cambodia, India, and Trinidad, and Episphaerella chusqueae (Dimerosporium chusqueae P. Henn.) from Chile. Brief critical taxonomic notes are included with reference to Dysrhynchis oligotricha (Mont.) Arx, known from Puerto Rico, Panama, Jamaica, Guatemala, Trinidad, Venezuela, Cayenne Island, British Guiana, the Philippine Islands, and Uganda, Porostigme microspora Toro, Calochaetis indica Syd., Dimeriella sacchari (B. de Haan) Hansf. ex Abbott, D. sasae Hara, Dimerina arundinariae Hino et Katumoto, D. bambusicola Teng, and Dimerium japonicum Syd. et Hara.
