Bone Disease, Hypophosphatemia and Hyperparathyroidism After Renal Transplantation

Abstract
Aseptic necrosis of bone and spontaneous fractures are frequent and sometimes disabling complications to renal transplantation (1, 2, 3,). The pathogenesis of these bone affections is not known, but several factors have been proposed as pathogenic, for example steroid-induced osteoporosis (4), secondary hyperparathyroidism (5), ischemia of bone (1) and hypophosphatemic osteomalacia (6).
