Abstract
A double-cavity technique was used to control the duration of the flash-pumped dye laser emission. Interaction between the two cavities of perpendicular polarization was possible because of the very rapid orientational relaxation of the dye in solution. 30-ns pulses were obtained with a water solution of rhodamine 6G excited with a fast coaxial flash lamp. Keywords
