Abstract
Recurrent pyogenic cholangitis, first described in Hong Kong, has a wide geographical distribution in Southeast Asia. Many features, e.g. intrahepatic stones, biliary strictures and recurring cholangitis, continue to challenge doctors who are treating patients with this disease. This article summarizes the impact of recent technological advances on the management of recurrent pyogenic cholangitis. The problems are by no means solved but the outlook of the patients is improved. Keywords
