Single Versus Multiple Gage Occupancy and Convulsion Frequency in C3H Mice.

Abstract
When C3H male mice are housed singly and fed ordinary diets they have convulsions beginning at about 6 months of age, associated chiefly with cage changing and weighing. A considerable mortality is involved. Those surviving 12 months usually show a decrease in convulsive tendency. If the mice are housed in pairs or larger groups mortality is neglible and incidence of convulsions low. Results are observed when the only known variable is number of mice housed/cage.
