Abstract
We consider the solution of the convection-di#usion equation in two dimensionsbyvarious multi-level algorithms #MLAs#. We study the convergence rateof the MLAs and the stabilityofthe coarse-grid operators, depending on thechoice of arti#cial viscosity at the di#erent levels. Four strategies are formulatedand examined. A method to determine the convergence rate is describedand applied to the MLAs, both in a problem with constant and in one withvariable coe#cients. As relaxation procedures...Keywords
