Abstract
Anion-selective membrane electrodes have been applied to pharmaceutical analysis. Twenty-four halogenated pharmaceutical compounds were determined by both the direct and indirect potentiometric methods. The compounds investigated represented a wide range of pharmaceutical compounds used extensively in pharmacy and medicine. Determinations of the dissociated halides were carried out directly with no previous treatment but the undissociated halides were determined after applying Schöniger's method. Comparison of the results obtained with the direct and indirect methods shows that they are in agreement. The direct method can be adopted for rapid routine pharmaceutical analysis as it is easy to carry out. Keywords
