Comment on a Possible $J^{\pi }=0^{+}$, $T=2\mathrm{}$ Resonance in ${\mathrm{Be}}^9({\mathrm{He}}^3, \gamma \gamma ){\mathrm{C}}^{12}$

The reaction ${\mathrm{Be}}^9({\mathrm{He}}^3, \gamma \gamma ){\mathrm{C}}^{12}$ has been reexamined near a previously reported resonance at $E_{{\mathrm{He}}^3}=1.739\mathrm{}\pm 0.007$ MeV, which was ascribed to the lowest $T=2\mathrm{}$ state in ${\mathrm{C}}^{12}$. No resonance was observed and an upper limit $\frac{{\Gamma }_{{\mathrm{He}}^3}{\Gamma }_{\gamma }}{\Gamma }<1.5\mathrm{}$ meV is established for the $T=2\mathrm{}$ resonance strength (assuming $\Gamma \le 1.5$ keV) which is $\frac{1}{5}$ of the previously reported strength.
