Abstract
The crystallized rennin of N. J. Berridge was found to be not quite homogeneous at a pH of 7 in the ultracentrifuge and in diffusion measurements. An approximate molecular weight of 40,000 was calculated for the main fraction from the sedimentation and diffusion constants. The rennin behaved uniformly during paper‐electrophoresis between pH 5 and 8 and at 2. The isoelectric point lies in the neighbourhood of 4,5. In conclusion, the quantitative amino acid composition was determined with the chromatographic method of Stein & Moore. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
