Abstract
Photographs were taken of 30 undergraduate women between the ages of 18 and 22, and 30 non-student women over the age of 25. Attitudes towards women''s roles and rights identified these women as supporters or non-supporters of the feminist movement. Ratings of the physical attractiveness of the photographed women were not related to their attitude scores. Male undergraduates, when asked to identify the women who supported the women''s liberation movement, reliably chose photographs of less attractive women; female undergraduates reliably chose photographs of more attractive women. Neither male nor female non-students chose differently than chance. These findings are directly opposed to those of Goldberg, Gottesdiener, and Abramson. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
