Abstract
This paper describes some accomplishments and ongoing work relating to a system called The SNePS Actor. Cognitive agents modeled using this system are capable of representing and reasoning about beliefs, acts, and plans. The architecture of the SNePS Actor being developed is based on our investigations of the relationships between beliefs, plans, effective acts, and sensory acts, and between reasoning and acting, in the context of a computational rational agent. The representations and reasoning mechanisms used are those of SNePS- an intensional, propositional, semantic network-based system. Keywords
