Platelet Adhesion and Aggregation Following Contact between Blood and Vascular Catheters in vitro

Abstract
An in vitro investigation of platelet adhesion and aggregation revealed that on contact with the wall of a catheter platelets adhere to the surface of the latter and aggregate. This implies a risk of thrombi forming on the wall of catheters inserted into the circulation.Keywords
