Abstract
A method for preparing thin films of nominal composition NbC0.3N0.7 is reported. Maximum transition temperatures of 17.3 °K are obtained for films deposited at ∼700 °C. However, higher critical currents and critical fields are obtained for films prepared at lower temperatures, even though the Tc's are lower. This effect is attributed to structural differences in the two types of films. Keywords
