Abstract
The magnetic properties of RT4B amorphous and crystallized ribbons with T≡(Fe,Co) are reported. Ordering temperatures in the amorphous alloys range from 53 to 231 °C while those of crystallized alloys are between 250 and 411 °C. Room‐temperature coercivities were measured to be in the range of 0.9–11.0 kOe. From all RFe4B alloys studied, with R≡Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, and Er, only ErFe4B crystallizes in the hexagonal CeCo4B structure leading to a room‐temperature coercivity of 6 kOe. In the same compound an easy axis to easy plane transition may exist in the temperature range of 4.2–300 K.This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
