Abstract
A new species, Spiochaetopterus bergensis, from Western Norway is described, and a revision of the entire genus revealed that the species originally known as Telepsavus costarum, Spiochaetopterus oculatus, and Leptochaetopterus pottsi need to be reclassified. The status of some species was found to be questionable, while others were rediagnosed. Keys for the valid genera and species are given and the involved taxonomic problems are discussed. Keywords
