Issues for nursing in 1995

Abstract
Now would seem to be an opportune time to reflect upon nursing in the 1990s. First of all, it is worth reviewing the wider concerns in health care today. Consumers' attitudes to the NHS are changing. The Patient's Charter (Department of Health (DoH), 1991) has encouraged people to seek more detailed information about services and standards, emphasising that any complaints must be dealt with more speedily and effectively. This has led to a rise in public dissatisfaction with doctors and a lack of trust in managers.
