Abstract
58 cases of double malignancies of uterus and breast observed in 1048 breast cancers and 941 uterine cancers are reported. 46 cases were of double breast cancer, the second arising within a year of the first in 21 cases and later in the other 25. The interest of these findings lies in the incidence and chronological distribution of the two lesions and the long interval between the onset of the two malignancies and the increased risk of metastases. Double malignancies affecting breast and uterus are much rarer: 8 cases in which the breast was affected first, only 1 of which metastasised, and 4 cases in which the uterus was affected first, of which as many as 3 metastasised. The occurrence of these combinations does not seem to be related, or at any rate non consistently, either with age, marital status or treatment, roentgen castration in particular. Keywords
