Abstract
Regular coffee and tea drinking is associated with a lower incidence of chronic liver disease. Protection by coffee and tea may be limited to individuals at risk for liver disease from alcohol, diabetes, overweight or iron overload. This study is in line with previous observations (Ruhl and Everhart, Gastroenterology 2005, 128:24-32 [PMID:15633120]) that caffeine reduces serum liver enzymes. Keywords
