Abstract
The purpose of the study is to present a simple, semianalytic model of the elastohydrodynamic lubrication of rollers capable of replacing the exact numerical solutions over a wide range of operating parameters. The model improves upon the work of Christensen (3), by properly modelling the inlet and connecting inlet, central and exit zones, thereby providing a complete solution for the whole contact. To illustrate the effectiveness of the model in providing acceptable solutions, a comparison is made with the existing exact numerical solutions to the problem of EHL line contacts. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
