Investigation of the Distension Capacity of the Human Gallbladder

Abstract

The expansion quotient of the gallbladder was studied during cholecystography with choleresis by the injection of Biligrafin and closure of the spincter of Oddi by the injection of morphine. The relationship between the concentrating power of the gallbladder and the expansion quotient as well as the width of the common bile duct was studied. Results are discussed in relation to so-called postoperative dyskinesia.
