Abstract
A method for determining the total sulphur content of soils is described that is sufficiently rapid (less than 4 minutes per sample) and sensitive (lower limit of detection less than 10 p.p.m. of sulphur) for survey and fertility investigations. A simple correction for matrix effects, caused by large variations (10 to 90 per cent.) of organic matter content has been found, based on the loss of weight at 450° C.Keywords
