Abstract
The nematic-isotropic transition temperature for a binary nematic mixture calculated from the Humphries-James-Luckhurst molecular field theory has been found to vary linearly with composition. Here we show that this result is not analytic, unlike the bifurcation or divergence temperature for such mixtures. The compositon dependences of other transitional properties are also considered. Keywords
