Morphology and Taxonomy of Alternaria Cucumerina

Abstract
Alternaria cucumerina was found to be the cause of a leafspot disease of cucurbits in all cases examined in Florida during a 2-year period. A study of the species indicates that size range of conidia is sufficient to include other named species. An emendation is proposed to present descriptions of Alternaria cucumerina (E. and E.) Elliot (= A. brassicae f. nigrescens Pegl. and A. nigrescens (Pegl.) Neerg.).
