Abstract
Various technics are described for maintaining E. histolytica in bacteria- and fungi-free media, using embryonic chick tissue as a base material. Aerobic culture of this amoeba is reported, presumably for the first time. Amoebic invasion of blocks of chick tissue seemed to be completely mechanical, and not by a lytic enzyme; there was no observable cellular reaction or changes around the trophozoite. Keywords
