Abstract
The structure of aurofusarin, a golden yellow pigment of Fusarium culmorom, was established by the biogenetical type synthesis. Rubrofusarin was partially methylated to yield monomethyl ether A which was altered by oxidation with Fremy''s salt. Partial demethylation followed by oxidative coupling using potas-siumpersulphate as the reagent afforded 7,7[image]-bis(8[image]hydroxy-5-methoxy-2-methyl-4H-naphtho [2,3-b]pyrane-4,6,9-(6H, 9H)trione], whose methyl ether was identical with aurofusarin dimethyl ether. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
